Huncote Parish Council owns and is responsible for Denman Lane recreation ground, Crictchlow Road playing area, the sports field on Sportsfield Lane, Huncote Cemetery, the Penfold in the centre of Huncote and a field beside the bridleway on Forest Road.

Other land
Not all open space is Parish Coucnil owned. Details of these areas can be seen in the map above by changing the layer from 'Land' to 'Land Ownership', which will show who owns which areas.
It is becoming more commonplace for developers not to offer land to the local coucnils when they build new homes and to instead appint a management company to manage thse estates. These are called freehold estates.
